扁角龙（属名：Platyceratops）是种 角龙下目 恐龙，生存于晚 白垩纪 坎潘阶，约7500万年前到7200万年前。扁角龙的化石发现于蒙古。它们的头颅骨大于 弱角龙 ；它们曾被归类于 弱角龙科 或新角龙类。模式种是鞑 扁角龙（Platyceratops tatarinovi），是由Aliafanov在2003年所叙述。

巴隆(Barun Goyot)研究团队在属于晚白垩世[北美]Santonian阶的 西伯利亚 南部的Khulsan地区和蒙古纳摩盖吐漥地Khermiin Tsav地区描述了两种新的新 角龙亚目 恐龙，皆为新属种： 喇嘛角龙 ( Lamaceratops tereschenkoi)与鞑靼扁角龙(Platyceratops tatarinovi)

食性
如同所有 角龙下目 恐龙，扁角龙是草食性。在 白垩纪 期间， 被子植物门 的地理范围有限，所以扁角龙可能以当时的优势植物为食，例如：蕨类、 苏铁 、 针叶树 。它们可能使用锐利的喙状嘴咬下树叶或针叶。
