又称四碘甲 (tetraiodome thane )。从 乙醚 中可得到 栗色 正八面体结晶。 熔点 168℃（分解），相对密度4.32。
性质
加热则升华，暴露于空气中则逐渐分解为 二氧化碳 和碘，遇热和在溶液中则加速变化；140℃时与氢反应则分解为 碘化氢 和 75-47-8 。由 四氯化碳 与 二硫化碳 在 碘化铝 ( AlI3 )存在下加热制得；也可将碘仿与次 碘酸钾 反应制取。用于有机合成。
